2015 - Jurassic World
Love the funny begining, it really captivate the audience, the music an the heartbet on the egg shell, the birth of nw dynos that no humans has even see,....and of course the gignatic eye of evil....swapped inmediately for a bird in the snow... so innocent, yet a wonderful jump from the lab to a house, where a family is about to depart of holidays. I like that switch on the script. The 2 x brother are decipted following well-known stereotypes:
The young adult, older brother about 16,17, who sees the family as a burden, specially his younger brother, and is only interested in girls (you can predict the movie will transform him, and the spectator is looking for that transformation, being presetned in the script
The small brother, geek, cleaver, socially inadequtae most of the time, love facts and figures and has an inmense curiosity. He is the family bond and always feels admiration for hte elder brother, who just sees him as a burden to look after. It is through the eyes of the small-younger-brother where the spectatod has the wooow effect and sharre teh joy of the place, the magical land that only a yound kid full of innocent can see...right?
Money, isn't it? it is always money and the greed of mankind. The story goes that Jurassic Park is already boring and visitors need a new attraction to keep attendance and hence investors happy, so they develop a new dyno called Indominus Rex with 'more teeth' and bigger than anything else; the script is well-formed, presenting the 'monster' to the expectator with a dialogue between shareholders and the director of the lab: "When will she be ready?"..."She already is", given the sensation that the monster is ready to be unleased
The Cool-Link; unt Claire, the manager of JP, is of course the antie of the 2 x young kids; that builds up the plot... now the unfolds begings
The Map with "Restricted Area" ; always have to show this app, it appears 11 minutes into the movie
The excentric-billionaire; a visionary, good-heart but naive somehow, claiming you can measure the satisfaction of the animals by looking at their eyes; "The key to a happy life is to accept you are never actually in control"
"Are you okay?", she asks to the pilot who is vomiting, while the CEO responds without looking: "He's just being dramatic"
The tense music, the viral groans, the detail that the monster eat her sibilng, shows it has no emotion even for family, well-done guys!
Superhero introduction; minute 20, the CEO knows he's a good asset, and we see him working hand-to-hand with the animals, he knows their inner behaviour
The villian-ego; a god of war, normally fat, ugly, arrogant and trying to dominate the monster, the spectator intuitively know that the monster is going to eat/destroy the villian-ego, he so well deserve it, and is the anti-tesis of the hero, thus shinning even more light on the hero, as we know he does the right thing even when the vilian-ego is pressing around. The story of the wolf that attack his wife add weights to the character of the villan-ego and his desire to control de dynos
The thrilling moment; when he control, or semi-control the animals to prevent a new employee to be eaten by the raptors
The fiasco moment: the worker having lunch add negligence to the scene, how did the animal blocked the thermal sensor? and why the control implant is in the control room, cannot she call the control room for status? and why the mobile signal is so crap? "Is in the cage! Evacuate!" and why the signal is so crap...then crunchy noises. All setup for the monster to escape, of course. Brilliant thing that, later on, there is an explanation about this, the monster has flog's dna on it, that can regulate their infrared output radiation, so she basically is able to cool herself down
another fiasco moment: why the kids go 'off road'? who left that gap oven on the barrier? The monster did not create the gap, because behid them you see live dinos # the blits siren when the birds attack the population
Brilliant scenes; the way the script develop from her seeing some children in the screen, that reminds her of her own nephews, to locate them and how it leads to the hero (Owen) as the last needed resource to save the kids is brilliant, "fine, I'll do it myself", lovely connections # the way the phone vibrates while they are suck on the gyroscope is brilliant, a logical and perfect way to attract the monster# Genius moment of how the kids fixed the car, remembering how the fixed gampa old 'Malibu' # the funny moment when the guards are staring to the jungle, and the old jeep with the kids appear, "that's a first", were they aware the island is on a emergency? # 1h 331M, her smile when watchign teh raports race and the elder nephew says "your by is a badass"#
Dramatic moment; when the escuadron with inofensive weapoing is sent tyo kill the monster, and teh hero knows very well they are goind to die, the monster will kill them all # The first sight of a brampsosaurius (with human eyes by the way, of course) dying and full of scars from themonster, with the sensible music, hightlight how cruel and dangeours teh monster is...all animas are dead...wow effect "it didn't eat them, it kill them for sport" # when teh british assistant is capture by a bird, throwing on teh water, keep screamingand then eaten by the huge dino
The smart moves; cover yourself is brake fluid so that the monster doesn't smell your flesh
1939 - Stagecoach
Directed by John Ford
The movie start with the lovely world-wiuse-wese font, classic! First scene you see a serious 'cheyenne' and somebody saying they hate the apaches more than the white man, indicating that the indians are able to generate more hate than the white man, and one minute after the 'monster' is introduced by the name of Jeronimo.
As a genius script, the character are introuduce bit a bit, the peniless drunked-doc man, always wise and kind, the lady who is a prostitute, innocent and take over by life and circunstances. Magic that, on the coach, the drunked-dog find a whiskie dealer. The sherrif, so quickly, get into the coach as a gunman, the banker who is stealing in just 3 lines....all the characters magistically presented, sublime! In just 13' all the characters are presented, even the banker and the plot is set, and the spectator knows that the monster is going to affect each one of these characters.
The hero, an outlaw, is introduced as a walker well-versed in the main topic of the movie (indians and far west). The driver of the coach, the eyes of the spectaros, is kind and gentle, and love the hero, allowing the spectaor to see him with lovely eyes
Brilliant: 'a good bullet or a bad bottle', supreme, and the scence of the vote shows the good charcters of each person, indeed showing the indiosincrasia of each person
2021 - Monster Hunter
Great opening scene with a ship sailing on a dessert, in quest of a powerful tower, and the 'monster' introduction, a beast and the born of the hero, in this case a chinese man stranded in the desert after the 'monster' kick him out of his ship. Then hottie soldiers, of course, especially male spectator love that. An electrical storm that light some making and just so happen the maries with their jeeps are passing through them, and suddenly they are teleported to a different world. "We are 20 clicks away", and what the hell is a click?
The killing mystery: on the Alternate World, they find the previous plattom bodies and jeeps calcinated, and they can't explain why sour of eat source leave no mark, can mel glass and leave body and equiptment scorched like that, great mystery introduction to keep the the spectator engated and hook his attention
Pitfalls: when the monster is pursuing them in their jeeps, why didn't they split?
